    Encompasses all types of litho printed material folded no more than once or printed on a single side. This includes flyers, posters, inserts, leaflets or invitations, etc.
    Entry requirements:
    Two copies of the printed product with the entry form.

  2. Litho Sheetfed – Annual Reports

    Includes annual reports, integrated reports, sustainability reports, in fact all legally-required reports.
    Entry requirements:
    Two copies of the printed product with the entry form.

  3. Litho Sheetfed – Magazines

    Includes both perfect bound and saddle-stitched magazines, trade journals, and corporate publications.
    Entry requirements:
    Two copies of the printed product with the entry form.

  4. Litho Sheetfed – Books

    Thread-sewn, thread-sealed and square-back books, soft or hard cover.
    Entry requirements:
    Two copies of the printed product with the entry form.

  5. Litho Sheetfed – Brochures

    Multiple sheet products including corporate brochures, product brochures, booklets and catalogues, folded and bound or unbound.
    Entry requirements:
    Two copies of the printed product with the entry form.

  6. Litho Sheetfed – Stationery

    All manner of private, office and corporate stationery including business cards, folders, letterheads, compliments slips, etc.
    Entry requirements:
    Two copies of the printed product with the entry form.

  7. Litho Sheetfed – Calendars

    All types of calendars from single sheet to full multi-sheet calendars. This cannot include self-promotional calendars.
    Entry requirements:
    Two copies of the printed product with the entry form.

  8. Litho Sheetfed Packaging

    Litho Printing onto paper/board or corrugated or flute board, direct or laminated.
    Entry requirements:
    Two copies of the printed product with the entry form. In addition a finished product can be supplied at your discretion.

  9. Heatset Webfed – Magazines

    Magazines printed on heatset webfed presses, whether perfect bound or saddle-stitched.
    Entry requirements:
    Two copies of the printed product with the entry form.

  10. Heatset Webfed – Brochures

    This includes all manner of promotional materials whether unbound, bound, stitched or glued.
    Entry requirements:
    Two copies of the printed product with the entry form.

  11. Coldset Webfed

    Encompasses all materials printed on coldset webfed offset presses whether as part of a newspaper or inserts for inclusion with the newspaper or for other uses.
    Entry requirements:
    Two copies of the printed product with the entry form.

  13. Labels – Paper

    Labels printed onto paper using any printing process – wettable, applied or self-adhesive, guillotine cut or die cut.
    Entry requirements:
    A minimum of two samples of the printed label. Preferred a full sheet of labels.

  14. Labels – In-mould

    Labels printed by any method for in-mould application. Includes in-mould printing and in-mould decorating.
    Entry requirements:
    At least two samples of the finished product/container must be supplied, as well as an explanation of the process.

  15. Flexible Packaging – Process

    Packaging onto flexible substrates such as film/plastic or foil.
    Entry requirements:
    A minimum of two samples of the printed product. In addition a finished product can be supplied at your discretion.

  16. Flexible Packaging – Linework

    Packaging onto flexible substrates such as film/plastic or foil.
    Entry requirements:
    A minimum of two samples of the printed product. In addition a finished product can be supplied at your discretion.

  17. Flexo Printing – Liquid Packaging

    Flexographic printing for liquid packaging printing onto board.
    Entry requirements:
    A minimum of two samples of the printed product. Preferred a full sheet plus a finished and assembled product.

  18. Flexo Printing – Labels Process

    Labels printed using flexography irrespective of technique but NOT where the label will be applied as an in-mould process.
    Entry requirements:
    A minimum of a full sheet but preferred to receive two or more full repeats in order to check consistency.

    Labels printed using flexography irrespective of technique but NOT where the label will be applied as an in-mould process.

  28. Large format – Rigid Substrates

    Conventional large-format rigid materials printed on a flatbed printer.
    Entry requirements:
    A reprint of the original work (or a minimum of 1x1m portion thereof) printed on the same substrate and using the same device. The print must be full-size – reductions of the print will be disqualified.

  29. Large format – Paper Substrates

    Printing onto all manner of paper substrates – plain and textured – for a range of purposes including wallpapers, posters and paper banners.
    Entry requirements:
    A reprint of the original work printed on the same substrate and using the same device. The print must be full-size – reductions of the print will be disqualified.

  30. Large format – Flexible Substrates

    All types of PVC substrates including plastic banners, backlit plastics and plastic sheets, vinyls both polymeric and monomeric, window films etc.
    Entry requirements:
    A reprint of the original work (or a minimum of 1x1m portion thereof) printed on the same substrate and using the same device. The print must be full-size – reductions of the print will be disqualified.

  31. Large format – Billboards

    Large items which are printed in tiles or single sheets and then assembled/mounted. Large items designed to be viewed from a distance. This is substrate independent.
    Entry requirements:
    A reprint of the original work (or a minimum of 2x2m portion thereof) printed on the same substrate and using the same device. The print must be full-size – reductions of the print will be disqualified. The entry must also be accompanied by high-resolution photographs from a number of angles and distances. Close-ups are also required.

  32. Large format – 3D POS board

    Printing onto rigid display boards for the manufacture of point-of-sale stands and displays.
    Entry requirements:
    A reprint of the original work (or a minimum of 1x1m portion thereof) printed on the same substrate and using the same device. The print must be full-size – reductions of the print will be disqualified.

  33. Large format – Alternate Substrates

    Incorporates printing onto non-conventional substrates, flexible and rigid, such as wood, glass, ceramics, acrylic, metal, mirrors, tableware, bubblewrap, etc.
    Entry requirements:
    A reprint of the original work printed on the same substrate and using the same device. (Preferred two samples.) The print must be full-size – reductions of the print will be disqualified.

  34. Large format – Vehicle Branding

    Printing of vehicle signage, decals, graphics and full printed wraps, etc.
    Entry requirements:
    A reprint of the original work (or a minimum of 1x1m portion thereof) printed on the same substrate and using the same device. The print must be full-size – reductions of the print will be disqualified. The entry must also be accompanied by high-resolution photographs from a number of angles and distances. Close-ups are also required.

  35. Large format – XXL Prints

    Addresses very large printed items such as building wraps, truck curtains and all other large items which may need finishing in one way or another. Like items will be judged against each other. This is substrate independent.
    Entry requirements:
    A reprint of the original work (or 2x2m portion thereof) printed on the same substrate and using the same device. The print must be full-size – reductions of the print will be disqualified. The entry must also be accompanied by high-resolution photographs from a number of angles and distances. Close-ups are also required.

  36. Large format – Textile Printing

    Printing onto textiles, both dye-sublimation and direct-to-textile, whether garments or fabrics for home décor, POS, displays, lightboxes and backlit.
    Entry requirements:
    A reprint of the original work (or 1x1m portion thereof) printed on the same substrate and using the same device. A full finished product can be supplied. The print must be full-size – reductions of the print will be disqualified.

  37. Large format – Fine-art reproductions

    Printing of fine-art or photographic reproductions onto canvas or fine-art papers.
    Entry requirements:
    A reprint of the original work printed on the same substrate and using the same device. (Preferred two samples.) The print must be full-size – reductions of the print will be disqualified.

  38. Non-printed Products

    Signage, POS displays and other promotional materials including those produced using laser engraving and cutting, CNC cutting and engraving, channel lettering, neon signs, signwriting, etching, vacuum forming, etc.
    Entry requirements:
    Where possible one full-size sample to be supplied. Where not possible, the entry must be accompanied by high-resolution photographs from a number of angles and distances. Close-ups are also required. In addition a letter explaining where the product is used and how it works.

  40. Digital Printing – Packaging Paper/Board

    Printing onto corrugated or flute board, direct or laminated.
    Entry requirements:
    Two copies of the printed product with the entry form.

  41. Digital Printing – Packaging Film

    Printing onto film or plastic for packaging applications.
    Entry requirements:
    Two copies of the printed product with the entry form.

  42. Digital Printing – Single Sheet

    All types of digitally printed materials on a single sheet. This would include posters, inserts, invitations or cards. It is also substrate independent.
    Entry requirements:
    Two copies of the printed product with the entry form.

  43. Digital Printing – Magazines

    Magazines whether perfect bound or saddle stitched also includes trade journals, and corporate publications.
    Entry requirements:
    Two copies of the printed product with the entry form.

  44. Digital Printing – Calendars

    All types of calendars from single sheet to full multi-sheet calendars. This cannot include self-promotional calendars.
    Entry requirements:
    Two copies of the printed product with the entry form.

  45. Digital Printing – Stationery

  46. Digital Printing – Books

    All types of books which are digitally printed including photobooks and coffee table books.

  47. Digital Printing – Labels

    Digitally Printed labels whether self-adhesive, applied, or shrink-wrapped, printed onto paper, plastic, foil excluding those designated for in-mould.
    Entry requirements:
    A minimum of two samples of the printed label. Preferred a full sheet of labels.

  48. Variable Data Printing

    Personalised/Customised print showing accurate use of variable data to personalise or customise the item.
    Entry requirements:
    At least 10 discernibly different items must be entered to show the variable data aspects. A motivation must also explain the logistics behind the entire process.

  49. Specialist

  50. Screen Printing

    All types of screenprinting produced using conventional silkscreen techniques. Excludes digitally printed materials.
    Entry requirements:
    A minimum of two samples of the printed product.

  51. 3D Printing

    Additive manufacturing or 3D printing including all types and techniques of 3D printed items such as filament printing or paper layering etc. Techniques include Vat Polymerisation, Material Extrusion, Material Jetting, Binder Jetting, Powder Bed Fusion, Direct Energy Deposition and Sheet Lamination.
    Entry requirements:
    A minimum of two samples of the printed product. Also required is an explanation of the purpose of the product, whether as a product in its own right or as a prototype for something that will be produced later or as a decorative item.

  52. Functional Printing

    Includes items such as printed circuit boards, RFID printing, solar cells, credit cards, phone cards, dials, nameplates, compact discs etc.
    Entry requirements:
    A minimum of one samples of the product. Also required is an explanation of how the process was achieved, as well as an indication of where the product will be used.

  53. Fusion of Techniques

    Two or more printing techniques are combined for the production of the job, such as litho and digital or digital and flexo. Applicable to jobs where different techniques are used for separate elements or on a single element. A letter of motivation must explain the production methods used.
    Entry requirements:
    A minimum of two samples of the printed product. Also required is an explanation of where the different techniques were used and why the combination was selected.

  54. Special Techniques and Finishes

    Special finishes for the enhancement of the final appearance. Techniques such as foiling, embossing, varnishing, laminates, special binding, etc. Die-cutting, pop-ups, coatings, fragrance, invisible inks, thermography, beading or other such elements.
    Entry requirements:
    A minimum of two samples of the printed product. An explanation of the processes followed as per the entry form.

  55. Folding and Finishing

    All types of folding and finishing techniques with special focus on the technical requirements for a quality finish. Attention to detail such as back-to-back fit, etc.
    Entry requirements:
    A minimum of two samples of the printed product. An explanation of the processes followed as per the entry form.

  56. Self-promotion

    Work done by any printer or other producer or service provider for their own promotional requirements but which will be distributed or displayed to the general public.
    Entry requirements:
    A minimum of two samples of the printed product.

  57. Innovation

    Creative use of materials in the printing, packaging and signage sectors to design something which has not been seen before. Aimed at printers or service providers who exceed limitations or expectations on technically complex or difficult jobs.
    Entry requirements:
    A minimum of two samples of the printed product. In addition to the samples of the printed work, a motivation must explain and describe the challenges and how they were overcome.

  58. Environmentally Sound

    Aimed at companies making a positive contribution to the environment via the printed process through the use of one or more environmentally-friendly item such as recycled papers, vegetable inks, processless plates, recycled water, low alcohol, recycled chemistry, etc.
    Entry requirements:
    A minimum of two samples of the printed product. In addition an explanation of how these processes contribute to environmental-protection is required.

  59. Graphic Design For Print

    This is a design-based competition but with regards to how it pertains to the printed job. This incorporates any design which will be printed in the sectors of printing, packaging, signage. Design elements in the printing process such as extra colours, special techniques, special characteristics or general outstanding design techniques.
    Entry requirements:
    A minimum of two samples of the product for use in print. Details of the final product and where/how it was used must be provided.
